JB Smoove (2014)

JB Smoove (born December 16, 1965 in Plymouth , North Carolina ; actually Jerry Brooks ) is an American actor , comedian and author .

Life

Smoove began his career on Russell Simmons ' HBO television show Def Comedy Jam in the early 1990s and performed as a stand-up comedian. For the television show Saturday Night Live he worked as a writer and in smaller roles as an actor between 2003 and 2007. From 2007 to 2008 he appeared in a recurring role in the comedy series Everyone Hates Chris . From 2008-2010 he starred in the sitcom Ehe ist ... in 26 episodes as "Kenny Westchester". On the series Leave it, Larry! (Original title: Curb Your Enthusiasm ) he can be seen alongside Larry David since 2007 as "Leon Black". He also had a collaboration with David in 2013 in the television film Clear History . Since 2013 he has played an alternate version of himself in the mockumentary television series Real Husbands of Hollywood . In 2013 and 2014 he starred on CBS sitcom The Millers alongside Will Arnett , Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges .

His distinctive voice was used in the animation productions Glenn Martin DDS , The Simpsons , American Dad , Black Dynamite , Robot Chicken and The Smurfs 2 .

A book by him that he wrote in his role as Leon (from Curb Your Enthusiasm ) has been announced for October 24, 2017 .
