Jerzy Satanowski (born August 23, 1947 in Warsaw ) is a Polish composer .

Satanowski is the son of the Polish conductor Robert Satanowski and initially studied Polish studies . As a self-taught composer, he began to write incidental music for various Polish theaters . From this work the first stage songs and chansons emerged , which are interpreted by numerous well-known Polish singers. His first film scores were made in the early 1980s.

In addition to his work as a composer, he has artistic responsibility for the great Polish chanson festival in Wroclaw . The main feature of his music and typical of the Satanowski sound known in Poland is the use of synthesizers . The music for the piece Ghetto by Joshua Sobol is an outstanding example of his incidental music .
