Jesús Gervasio Pérez Rodríguez OFM (born June 19, 1936 in Tamaraceite ) is a Spanish religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sucre .

Life

Jesús Pérez Rodríguez Gervasio joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 29 June 1962, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Lilybaeum and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Sucre on June 14, 1985 . He received his episcopal ordination on September 8, 1985, by the Archbishop of Sucre, Josef Clemens Cardinal Maurer CSsR ; Co- consecrators were Santos Abril y Castelló , Apostolic Nuncio in Bolivia , and René Fernández Apaza , Archbishop of Sucre and Military Bishop of Bolivia .

On November 6, 1989, Pope John Paul II was appointed Archbishop of Sucre. On February 2, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Jesús Gervasio Pérez Rodríguez for reasons of age.
