Titular diocese of Lilybaeum
Lilybaeum ( Italian : Lilibeo ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an ancient bishopric in the city of Marsala , which is located on the west coast of Sicily . The diocese had perished during the Saracen rule over Sicily at the beginning of the 10th century and was not reestablished under the Normans, as Roger I chose Mazara as the seat of the western Sicilian diocese, whose bishops in the 12th century temporarily also the title of one episcopus Lilibetanus .
