Jesse James Hollywood (born January 28, 1980 in Los Angeles , California ) is a former teenage drug dealer and commissioner of a murder. He was on the run from the police, FBI and Interpol for about five years . At the age of 20, he was one of the youngest people to appear on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted Criminal List .

Life

Wealth earned through crime - mostly marijuana sales - enabled him to purchase a home worth about $ 200,000 in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California, as well as several sports cars .

Benjamin Markowitz owed Jesse James Hollywood $ 1,200 because of a failed drug deal, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department. To put him under pressure, Hollywood and its gang kidnapped Benjamin Markowitz's little brother, Nicholas Markowitz. But Hollywood panicked when he realized the kidnapping would result in a longer prison term. He then commissioned the kidnapper to be murdered.

Hollywood accomplices Ryan Hoyt, Jesse Rugge and Graham Pressley carried out the murder assignment. Ryan Hoyt was sentenced to death in February 2003 . He is currently on death row at San Quentin State Prison . Jesse Rugge received life imprisonment for his involvement and cannot be released on probation until after seven years at the earliest . Parole was first denied in 2006. Parole was granted on July 2, 2013, and he was released from prison on October 24, 2013. Graham Pressley, who was under 18 when the acts were carried out, was released in 2007 after seven years in juvenile prison.

Jesse James Hollywood was after five years on the run in a 36 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro remote district Saquarema , Brazil , arrested. The arrest was well planned. The Brazilian immigration authorities learned of a planned meeting with a Hollywood cousin whom he had not seen in more than ten years. The police surrounded the planned meeting point on the beach. Hollywood, expecting to meet his cousin, mistook a Brazilian police officer for his cousin and was arrested. Days later, Hollywood was deported to the United States because he did not have a valid passport.

Because of the kidnapping and subsequent murder of 15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz, for which he was said to be responsible as a leader of the gang, Hollywood has been put on trial. Although he was proven not to be present at the murder, he was deemed to have been the perpetrator and was found guilty of murder and kidnapping on July 8, 2009. In addition, a particular severity of guilt was determined. The death penalty would have been possible for this, but he was instead sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. Hollywood is currently serving its sentence in Calipatria State Prison.

In the United States, Jesse James Hollywood achieved dubious notoriety shortly after the Markowitz assassination. American media, especially the shows America's Most Wanted on the FOX and Dateline NBC on the NBC, helped him achieve this.
