Jesse Ritch (* 19th February 1992 in Bern as Jesse Ritch Kama Kalonji ) is a Swiss pop singer .

Career

His father comes from the Congo and used to sing in a band. Ritch worked as a male nurse, graduating as a health professional . Already at an early age he oriented himself towards music and took part in a talent show in Switzerland for the first time when he was ten. In 2006 he won a talent competition.

In 2010 he appeared at Das Supertalent , where he made it to the quarterfinals. He was ultimately known for his participation in the 9th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . Here he reached third place after Luca Hänni and Daniele Negroni .

After his participation, he received a recording contract with the 7Music label . H2U, who have already worked with DJ BoBo , take on the Swiss as producers .

With his first single Forever & A Day , he took part in the Swiss preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in December 2012 , but lost to the Swiss band Salvation Army . The single was released at the same time and was able to place itself at number 55 in the Swiss charts. On February 1, 2013, the R&B singer released his debut album Jesse Ritch . The Swiss house DJ Pat Farrell then became aware of him and asked about a possible collaboration. His second single Let Me Love You , which was released on April 5, 2013, contains the album version and a remix by Pat Farrell. A remix version of the DJ was also released for the third single.

On June 24, 2013 he was seen in the reality documentary Die Geissens . There he appeared as a surprise guest at a children's birthday party.

At the beginning of October 2013 an acoustic album was released that contains the songs of his debut album in live version. There are also some new songs on it. The album reached number 75 in the Swiss charts.

In 2014 Jesse toured all over Europe with DJ BoBo and performed in front of more than 300,000 people as a support act and co-singer alongside the most successful Swiss musician. After the successful circus tour, the two artists decided to continue walking together. Jesse Ritch has been a permanent singer in DJ BoBo's tour band ever since.

In 2015, the only 24-year-old artist founded his own music label Euroartists Agency . He is also increasingly active as a producer and works with the H2U Studios.

After his stage break, Ritch returned in 2016 with his new single I Can't Stop . For the European Football Championship in 2016 he wrote the song Game of Color , which he presented in the ZDF television garden , among other places .

The accompanying album Secret of Life was released in 2017 and reached number 34 on the charts. The album contains a song in Bernese dialect called “ Mängisch Bini Truurig ”, which was originally written for Nelly Patty. In 2020 he will return after a creative break with a new studio album. He published this under his first name Jesse . He also recorded the album in Bernese dialect. The first single Summer will be released on July 3, 2020.

In the SRF dance show May I ask? Jesse Ritch put his dancing skills to the test in autumn 2020. Together with professional dancer Flavia Landolfi, he mastered the semi-finals in March 2020. The broadcast will continue in October 2020 after an interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic .

As a producer and songwriter from H2U Studios, Jesse works for various artists such as Gölä , Trauffer , DJ BoBo , Joey Heindle etc. in the background as well as a live singer.

Jesse Ritch married on July 6, 2017.
