Jessica Anne Clarke (born May 5, 1989 in Leeds , United Kingdom ) is an English football player . The midfielder and attacking player has been under contract with Liverpool FC Women since 2017 and played for the England team for the first time in 2009 .
Career
society
Clarke started out at her hometown club, Leeds Carnegie Ladies . At 16, she played in the 2006 FA Women's Cup finals, but caused a penalty in the 5-0 defeat by Arsenal . The next finals were also lost, the Premier League Cup final in 2006 and the FA Women's Cup final again in 2008. After all, she scored the consolation goal in a 4-1 defeat in 2008 before winning the Premier League Cup with Leeds in 2010. She then moved to Lincoln Ladies FC . For the 2014 season, the club changed name and location and now played its home games in Nottingham as Notts County . When the club ceased operations after the 2016 season, she moved to Liverpool FC Women .
National team
Clarke played in the English U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams, and took part in the 2008 U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile , where she played with England in the quarter-finals against eventual world champions USA lost with 0: 3. In March 2009 Clarke made his debut in the English national team at the Cyprus Cup in the game against South Africa and won the tournament with England. At the 2009 European Championships , she was used in some games, but not in the lost final. She is also nominated for the 2011 World Cup . In the second World Cup game against New Zealand , she came on in the 65th minute for her first World Cup game. In the 81st minute she scored the 2-1 winning goal. In the last group game against Japan , she was in the starting line-up, but was replaced in the second half. In the quarter-finals against France , which the English lost on penalties, she was not used.
In qualifying for the 2013 European Women's Football Championship , she was used in four of the eight games and scored two goals. At the EM it was used in the defeats against France and Spain . The English women were eliminated as the last group.
In qualifying , she had five short appearances totaling 82 minutes. She was not nominated for the World Cup. She was disappointed but wanted to keep fighting. In the qualification for the European Football Championship Women 2017 it was then used twice.
