Yvonne Suter

Yvonne Suter (born May 19, 1977 ; citizen of Rapperswil-Jona and Lengnau ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Suter grew up in Rapperswil-Jona. She attended the Pfäffikon canton school , where she graduated with a mathematical and scientific Matura. She studied political science at the University of St. Gallen and graduated with a licentiate . Suter is currently working in the management of a major Swiss bank.

Suter is a member of the University Council of the University of St. Gallen and the board of the Cantonal Trade Association of St. Gallen. She lives in Rapperswil-Jona and is married.

Political offices

Suter ran for the National Council in 2007 on the list of young CVPs of the canton of St. Gallen and achieved the best result on the list. She also took part in the 2011 National Council election on the South & East list of the CVP Canton of St.Gallen . Suter was also one of four top candidates for the Young CVP Switzerland.

In 2008 Suter was a candidate for the St. Gallen Cantonal Council on the CVP Linth West List . In January 2011, she replaced Benedikt Würth, who was elected to the government, in the cantonal council. In September 2010, Suter was elected to the Business Audit Commission of the city of Rapperswil-Jona with a large majority in a campaign against a candidate from the Green Liberal Party .

Suter was president of the CVP Rapperswil-Jona and a member of the party leadership of the CVP Canton St. Gallen. She chaired the Junge CVP Linthgebiet for ten years and the CVP Linth for four years. As president of the steering group of the interest group (IG) “Pro Bildungsstandort Linthgebiet”, Suter advocates the dual education system and a good educational infrastructure.
