different now! was an Austrian boy band from February to November 2007, whose style of music combined modern rock and pop music . It came from the third season of the talent show Starmania , which was broadcast on ORF 1 from 2006 to 2007 . The band officially broke up on November 14, 2007.
On 16 February 2007, the group presented at the ORF - radio station Ö3 their first single This moment ago.
Members
Falco De Jong Luneau (born August 7, 1984 in Brand (Vorarlberg) ) attended music secondary school in Vorarlberg from the age of ten and is a trained locksmith by profession. His mother is Dutch. He also played for six years in a pop band as a drummer and guitarist and sometimes as a didgeridoo player . For a while he worked full-time in an insurance company as a clerk.
In the summer of 2006 he applied to the casting for Starmania , where he was able to achieve 7th place.
In 2010 he won a competition at the Dutch radio station 538 and started a music career in the Netherlands. He currently lives in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. In 2013 he took part in the Austrian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest .
Thomas "Tom" Neuwirth (born November 6, 1988) attendeda fashion schooluntil he took part in Starmania . He started playing the saxophone and clarinet at a young age. Due to his membership in the band "Jetzt anders!" The Starmania candidate, who used to live in Styria, moved to Vienna to join the other band members. Since autumn 2007 he has been employed as a window dresser at Hennes & Mauritz .
At Starmania he had to admit defeat to Nadine Beiler in the final. In 2011 he appeared as Conchita Wurst on the talent show Die Große Chance , in 2014 he won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen in this role with the song Rise Like a Phoenix .
Johannes "Johnny" K. Palmer (born May 30, 1984) has been on stage as a hip-hop dancer and Christian musician since he was thirteen . He writes his own songs. He has also been present at many festivals. Since summer 2007 he has been working as a hip-hop dance teacher.
He left Starmania in 2007 in eleventh place .
Martin Zerza (born October 27, 1989) is the youngest member of the boy group. First he sang in his school band Borgformation in Carinthia. At Starmania he reached the 6th place. After the band broke up, he stayed in Vienna and began an apprenticeship as a stylist .
different now! show
From the end of March 2007 on the Austrian television channel Puls TV and the mobile phone offer 3Live! the reality soap now different! Show broadcast. Every day at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., the band members entered the flat share to give an insight into the life of the former Starmania participants. This show was discontinued in August 2007 for lack of success.
Naming
Originally the band was only planned now! to name, but since there were two other Austrian music groups with this name, the group of four had to be different now! rename.
