Yevhen Stankovych
Jewhen Fedorowytsch Stankowytsch ( Ukrainian Євген Федорович Станкович , born September 19, 1942 in Swaljawa , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian composer .
Life
Stankovych studied at the Lviv Conservatory and the National Academy of Music of Ukraine . He has been a professor there since 1998. Among other things, he wrote twelve symphonies , five ballets , an opera as well as instrumental concerts and chamber music . His symphony № 3 was chosen by UNESCO as one of the ten best works of 1985.
