Jeypore is a city in the east Indian state of Odisha .
Jeypore is the second largest city in the south of Odisha. The municipality is divided into 28 wards . At the 2011 census, Jeypore had 84,830 inhabitants. The gender ratio was 991 women for 1,000 men. 89.2% of the population were followers of Hinduism , 7.22% Christians and 2.73% Muslims .
Jeypore is located in the Eastern Ghats at an altitude of 599 m in the Koraput district . The district capital Koraput is 15 km to the east.
The national highways NH 43 ( Jagdalpur - Vizianagaram ) and NH 326 ( Malkangiri - Rayagada ) cross in Jeypore. The city is on the railway line (Jagdalpur – Koraput).
