Jinxu Xiahou (actually Xiahou Jinxu , Chinese  夏 侯金旭 , Pinyin Xiàhóu Jīnxù ; * 1990 in Zibo , Shandong Province , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese opera singer ( tenor ).

biography

Jinxu Xiahou studied at the Central Conservatory for Music in Beijing (China) from 2008 . Since 2015 he has been studying for a master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Florian Boesch . He made his European debut in Zurich in 2010 when he performed at the annual Classic Night.

In 2012 he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera and has sung a.o. a. Nemorino ( L'elisir d'amore ), Rodolfo ( La Bohème ), Don Ramiro ( La Cenerentola ), Conte d'Almaviva ( Il barbiere di Siviglia ), Ernesto ( Don Pasquale ), Don Ottavio ( Don Giovanni ), Malcolm and Macduff ( Macbeth ), Fenton ( Falstaff ), singer ( Der Rosenkavalier ), singer ( Capriccio ), voice of the sailor ( Tristan and Isolde ), Cassio, Rodrigo (Otello), Ismaela and Abdallo ( Nabucco ), messenger ( Aida ), Jude and Naraboth ( Salome ), Fetodik ( Three Sisters ), Antonio (The Tempest).

He made his debut at the Wiener Musikverein in May 2017 with a recital with songs by Schubert and Strauss as well as works by Tosti , Rossini and Leoncavallo .

In June 2018 he took part in Edita Gruberová's gala concert at the Vienna State Opera under the direction of Marco Armiliato .

Jinxu Xiahou is a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, where he could be heard in various roles in the 2018/19 season.
