João Batista Muniz CSsR (born January 14, 1900 in São Sebastião da Chacara , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † December 10, 1977 ) was Bishop of Barra .

Life

João Batista Muniz joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in and put on 2 August 1921, the profession from. He received on 22 September 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 24, 1942, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Barra. On December 9, 1966, Pope Paul VI took the resignation put forward by João Batista Muniz and appointed him titular bishop of Velefi . Muniz renounced the titular diocese of Velefi on March 16, 1971.

João Batista Muniz attended the first and second session of the Second Vatican Council .
