Wilhelm Friedrich Karl Ernst Joachim Albrecht Prince of Prussia (born September 27, 1876 in Hanover , † October 24, 1939 in Berlin ) was a Prussian officer, composer and member of the House of Hohenzollern .

Life

Joachim Albrecht was the middle of three sons of the Prussian Prince Albrecht of Prussia (1837–1906) and his wife Marie von Sachsen-Altenburg (1854–1898). He studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn Law . In 1895 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After graduating, he embarked on an officer career. In 1902 he was a captain and company commander in the Queen Augusta Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 4 . During the First World War he was seriously wounded as a lieutenant colonel . Since then, as a composer, he has concentrated entirely on music, having composed, painted and poetry in earlier years. He gave numerous concerts of his compositions in Germany, where he conducted. In 1926 he also accepted the invitation to a concert tour for charity through the USA, but did not appear at the concerts after his arrival in 1928.

Joachim Albrecht married Marie Blich-Sulzer (1872–1919) in Austria in 1919. However, the marriage was not recognized by his family and dissolved again. His marriage to Karoline Kornelia Stockhammer (1891–1952), which he entered into in 1920, was divorced in 1936.
