Joachim Schmidt (politician, 1934)

Joachim Schmidt (born July 22, 1934 in Wismar , † June 16, 2009 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Joachim Schmidt attended high school and graduated from high school in 1954 . He then studied history and geography and in 1958 received the license to teach up to grade 10. In 1965 he continued his studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and in 1967 became a historian . Schmidt worked as a research assistant at the Museum of German History until October 1990 .

As part of the turn in the GDR Schmidt resigned in January 1990, the SPD in and could in the Berlin election in December 1990 , the direct mandate for the constituency 2 in the district of Pankow in Berlin House of winning. In September 1992 he left parliament and Knut Herbst was his successor .
