Joachim Seeländer

Joachim Seeländer (born September 2, 1924 in Zarrentin ) is a former German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was a member of the GDR regional chamber and from 1962 to 1969 chairman of the LDPD district committee in Leipzig .

Life

Seeländer, son of a gardener, learned the profession of bank clerk and worked as a savings bank employee in Zerbst . On April 1, 1944, he became a member of the NSDAP (membership no. 10 057 209). During the Second World War he did military service as a radio operator for the intelligence service in Norway . He is said to have completed a correspondence course in political science and law.

After his release from Western captivity, he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany in 1946 and initially worked as deputy head of the Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Weimar . He finally became a functionary of the party and was from 1953 to 1954 deputy chairman of the council of the Weimar-Land district . From 1954 to 1958 he acted as secretary of the LDPD district association Magdeburg . As a replacement for Erich Hagemeier , who died on July 25, 1955 , he was a member of the GDR Land Chamber until 1958. In 1958 he became department head for cadres in the secretariat of the LDPD central board. From 1962 he was deputy chairman or chairman of the Leipzig district association of the LDPD. From 1963 to 1972 he was a member of the central board of the LDPD. From 1969 he worked as deputy general director and director for publishers and institutions of the VOB upwards . In 1973 he was at the German Academy of Law and Political Science in Potsdam-Babelsberg with a thesis on "the role and effectiveness of Socialist Labor orders in the printing of the VOB upward and conclusions for their further development" to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. As chairman of the LDPD district association Berlin-Lichtenberg , he was also a member of the LDPD district executive committee in Berlin.
