Joachim von Wopersnow

Joachim von Wopersnow (* before 1555; † 1574 ) was a German clergyman, Schwerin cathedral dean and Mecklenburg-Güstrowscher court advisor .

Life

origin

Joachim came from the house of Natztow of the Pomeranian noble family von Wopersnow . His parents are so far unknown. Together with his brother Peter († after 1569) he left the Pomeranian homeland and entered Mecklenburg services.

Career

Wopersnow was enrolled at the University of Bologna in 1555 and appeared for the first time as a Schwerin canon in the same year . From 1562 he was court advisor to Duke Ulrich . Together with the Mecklenburg Chancellor Heinrich Husan, he was the author of the New Order of the Court and Regional Court in 1567 . In 1570, Emperor Maximilian granted the privilege of inheriting the goods Keez and Thurow and ⅓ Buchholz under feudal law . To these goods, as well Schlagsdorf which his wife as dowry was happening and Penzin that all previously at the Sperling were kindled a lengthy dispute before the Imperial Court , which eventually ruined the Mecklenburg Wopersnow and won the the sparrow in the 18th century . As cathedral dean, Wopersnow acquired Demelow and Rubow from the cathedral chapter in 1572 .

family

Joachim married Catharina von Sperling († 1625) in 1563. The marriage resulted in the following two sons, who after the death of their father were under the guardianship of the Pomeranian Chancellor Georg Thesmar.
