Joan Bradshaw

Joan Gail Bradshaw (born April 14, 1936 in Tulsa County , Oklahoma ) is an American actress.

Life

Joan Bradshaw was born in 1936 to ice cream maker John Powers Bradshaw and Mary Elizabeth Merkle. She grew up in Houston , Texas .

At the age of 15, Joan left school to take part in beauty pageants. In 1953 she won the Miss Texas USA election and came fourth in the Miss USA election . Joan got her first appearances on television as a dancer on the variety show The Arthur Murray Party . Joan got various film roles, including starring alongside Glenn Ford , Elvis Presley and Jerry Lewis and working as a model. In October 1956 she was in Playboy .

The series of photos taken by Earl Leaf in 1957 is still known today , showing Joan with her miniature poodle walking through Hollywood .

When Joan married the film producer Frank Ross in 1961, she ended her film career. The marriage with Ross divorced in 1974, the marriage resulted in two children. Jane has been married to James Yow Sitgreaves since 2000 and commutes between Los Angeles and South Padre Island .
