Tulsa County is a county in the state of Oklahoma in the United States . The county seat is Tulsa .

The county is located in northeastern Oklahoma and has an area of 1520 square kilometers, of which 43 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Washington County , Rogers County , Wagoner County , Okmulgee County , Creek County, and Pawnee County .
history
Tulsa County was formed in 1905 as the original Muskogee County county . It was named after the city of Tulsa.
The county has a National Historic Landmark , the Boston Avenue Methodist Church . 85 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of June 6, 2018).

As of the 2000 census , Tulsa County had 563,299 people in 226,892 households and 147,252 families. The population density was 381 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 75.02 percent white, 10.95 percent African American, 5.20 percent Native American, 1.62 percent Asian, 0.05 percent from the Pacific island area and 2.77 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 4.40 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.97 percent of the population.
Of the 226,892 households, 32.2 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them. 49.1 percent were married couples living together, 12.1 percent were single mothers. 35.1 percent were not families, 29.6 percent were single households and 8.9 percent of the households had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.03 people.
26.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 10.0 percent between 18 and 24, 30.4 percent between 25 and 44, 21.6 percent between 45 and 64 and 11.8 percent were 65 years or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 94.2 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over there were 90.9 men.
The median income for a household in the city was $ 38,213 , and the median income for a family was $ 47,489. Males had a median income of $ 35,495 versus $ 25,680 for females. The per capita income was $ 21,115. 8.7 percent of families and 11.6 percent of the population were below the poverty line.
