Oklahoma County is a county in the state of Oklahoma in the United States . The county seat is Oklahoma City , which is also the capital of Oklahoma.

The county is located slightly northwest of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of ​​1,860 square kilometers, of which 24 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Logan County , Lincoln County , Pottawatomie County , Cleveland County, and Canadian County .

Oklahoma County was formed as the original Free Territory County in 1890. The county was settled by white settlers during the first official land occupation ( Oklahoma Land Run ) on April 22, 1889.
