The county is located north of the geographic center of Oklahoma and covers an area of ​​1940 square kilometers, of which 12 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Garfield County , Payne County , Lincoln County , Oklahoma County, and Kingfisher County .

history

Logan County was formed as the original Free Territory county in 1890. The county was settled by white settlers during the first official land occupation ( Oklahoma Land Run ) on April 22, 1889. It was named after John Alexander Logan , a US general in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War , and later United States Senator and candidate for Vice President of the United States.

According to the 2000 census , Logan County had 33,924 people in 12,389 households and 8,994 families. The population density was 18 people per square kilometer.
