The county is located slightly northeast of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2501 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water. Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln County was formed as the original county in 1891. The county was settled by white settlers during the second official land occupation ( Oklahoma Land Run ) on September 22, 1891. It was named after Abraham Lincoln , the 16th President of the United States.

As of the 2000 census , Lincoln County had 32,080 people in 12,178 households and 9,121 families. The population density was 13 people per square kilometer.
