Rogers County is a county in the state of Oklahoma in the United States . The county seat is Claremore .

The county is located in northeast Oklahoma, is about 50 km to the north from Kansas and has an area of ​​1,843 square kilometers, of which 95 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: Nowata County , Craig County , Mayes County , Wagoner County , Tulsa County, and Washington County .

history

Rogers County was formed from Cherokee Country on July 16, 1907 as the original county . It was named after Clement V. Rogers a member of the Constituent Assembly ("Constitunional Convention") of Oklahoma.

The Ed Galloway's Totem Pole Park is one of 16 entries in the county NRHP.

According to the 2000 census , Rogers County had 70,641 people in 25,724 households and 20,090 families. The population density was 40 people per square kilometer.
