The Beckham County is a county in the US state of Oklahoma . At the 2010 census , the county had 22,119 people and a population density of 9.5 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Sayre , named after Robert H. Sayre , a promoter of the railroad.

JCW Beckham

Beckham County was formed on July 16, 1907 from parts of Roger Mills County and Greer Territory. It was named after John Crepps Wickliffe Beckham (1869-1940), a former governor (1900-1907) and US Senator from Kentucky (1015-1921).
