Lincoln County is a county in the US state of Oklahoma in the United States . The county seat is Chandler .
geography
The county is located slightly northeast of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of 2501 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Payne County , Creek County , Okfuskee County , Pottawatomie County , Oklahoma County, and Logan Counties .
history
Lincoln County was formed as the original county in 1891. The county was settled by white settlers during the second official land occupation ( Oklahoma Land Run ) on September 22, 1891. It was named after Abraham Lincoln , the 16th President of the United States.
Historical objects
In Stroud , the historical is Southwestern Bell Telephone Building (also known as Stroud Public Library ). The building is located at number 301 on West 7th Street . Erected in 1929, the building was listed on October 14, 1986 by the National Register of Historic Places as a Historic Monument with the number 86001093.

As of the 2000 census , Lincoln County had 32,080 people in 12,178 households and 9,121 families. The population density was 13 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 86.43 percent white, 2.46 percent African American, 6.57 percent Native American, 0.25 percent Asian, 0.02 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 0.45 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 3.82 percent were descended from two or more races. 1.51 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 12,178 households, 34.1 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them. 61.5 percent were married couples living together, 9.2 percent were single mothers. 25.1 percent were not families, 22.4 percent were single households and people aged 65 or over lived in 10.5 percent of the households. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.03 people.
27.4 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 7.8 percent between 18 and 24, 26.7 percent between 25 and 44, 24.1 percent between 45 and 64 and 13.9 percent were 65 years or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over there were 94.5 men.
The median income for a household in the city was $ 31,187 , and the median income for a family was $ 36,310. Males had a median income of $ 28,647 versus $ 20,099 for females. The per capita income was $ 14,890. 11.1 percent of families and 14.5 percent of the population are below the poverty line.
