Joav

The Israeli Police ( Hebrew משטרת ישראל Mishteret Yisrael) set up the unit Joav ( Hebrew יואב) specially designed to combat terrorist attacks against the so-called soft targets that are regularly perpetrated by Islamic extremist suicide bombers in public transport buses, especially in the north of the country.

The operations take place on two levels. The first involves forays through the buses in full tactical gear, including bulletproof vests and weapons, designed to deter terrorists from intruding and attacking, as well as providing an immediate tactical response in an emergency. This includes the use of explosive dogs and mobile X-ray machines , similar to those used at airports, to detect explosives and weapons. The second is the use of undercover agents of the Joav unit in plain clothes, which takes place in buses, at bus stops and in the surrounding streets in plain clothes and with hidden handguns . Your job is to track down terrorists in advance. They usually do not act as escorts on the buses. As with other intervention units, the Joav unit is only allowed to attack the target object if there is immediate danger. Otherwise, one must wait for the JAMAM unit to arrive , which will then take responsibility for further action.
