Jochen Mai

Jochen Mai (born 1968 ) is a German journalist , blogger , author and entrepreneur .

life and career

Jochen completed his studies in economics at the University of Cologne with a diploma . In 2007 he founded the job blog Karrierebibel.de , which with around 4 million readers a month is one of the best known in Germany. The site now has its own editorial team and branches in English and Spanish . He also published his own book on the blog entitled The Career Bible , which became a bestseller . In 2009 the Stiftung Warentest recognized the book as recommendable and he received the LeadAward for his blog. He later published 4 more books. His books have been translated into a total of 11 different languages. He also operates the partner websites Karrierefragen.de (advice community) and Karrieresprung.de (job exchange).

Before he went into business for himself, he worked for two years as a social media manager at Yello Strom and for 13 years headed the “Career + Success” section of the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche . Jochen also works as a lecturer at the Technical University of Cologne and gives specialist lectures at trade fairs, congresses and company events. He also wrote several articles for Die Zeit , the Spiegel , the Bild-Zeitung , Die Welt and the Handelsblatt and held several interviews on radio stations.
