Life

He was a master hairdresser (since 1961) and worked until 1965 as a vocational school teacher in Duisburg and Wuppertal and finally as a conférencier and make-up artist for advertising galas in a large industrial company. His radio career began in 1970 when he was hired as a spokesperson for Radio Luxemburg's German program . In 1973, the then program director, Frank Elstner , made him chief spokesman and later head of entertainment. In the 1970s and 1980s, Pützenbacher was one of the most popular presenters of Radio Luxembourg's Four Happy Waves . In 1986 he and his RTL colleagues Helga Guitton and Haidy Jacobi (Adelaide Harbich) received the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg . After the end of his radio activity at RTL (1997), he moderated occasional gala events and was a lecturer at the German Radio Academy in Oberhausen .
