Joe Steve Vásquez
Joe Steve Vásquez (born July 9, 1957 in Stamford ) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Austin .
Life
He was ordained a priest on January 30, 1988 by the Bishop of San Angelo , Joseph Anthony Fiorenza .
Pope John Paul II named him auxiliary bishop in Galveston-Houston and titular bishop of Cova on November 30, 2001 . The Bishop of Galveston-Houston, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza, ordained him episcopally on January 23 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Patrick Fernández Flores , Archbishop of San Antonio , and Michael David Pfeifer , Bishop of San Angelo . He chose Sigueme as his motto .
He was named Bishop of Austin on January 26, 2010, and inducted into the office on March 8 of the same year.
