Martin John Amos (born December 8, 1941 in Cleveland ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Davenport .

Life

The Bishop of Cleveland , Clarence George Issenmann , ordained him a priest on May 25, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II named him auxiliary bishop in Cleveland and titular bishop of Meta on April 3, 2001 . The Bishop of Cleveland, Anthony Michael Pilla , ordained him episcopally on June 7 of that year ; Co-consecrators were Alexander James Quinn , Auxiliary Bishop in Cleveland, and Anthony Edward Pevec , Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus in Cleveland.

He was named Bishop of Davenport on October 12, 2006, and inducted into the office on November 20 of that year. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on April 19, 2017.
