Alexander James Quinn

Alexander James Quinn (born April 29, 1932 in Cleveland , † October 18, 2013 in Westlake , Ohio ) was auxiliary bishop in Cleveland .

Life

Alexander James Quinn was ordained a priest in Cleveland on May 24, 1958 . In 1958/59 he was initially vicar in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist . After completing a doctoral degree in canon law at the Pontifical North America College in Rome , he worked in the ordinariate in Cleveland. From 1968 to 1972 he was Chancellor. In 1973 he became the diocese's chief financial officer. He was also pastor of Saint Francis Xavier Parish in Medina.

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Socia and auxiliary bishop in Cleveland on October 14, 1983 . He received his episcopal ordination on December 5th of that year by the Bishop of Cleveland, Anthony Michael Pilla ; Co- consecrators were Daniel Edward Pilarczyk , Archbishop of Cincinnati , and Gilbert Ignatius Sheldon , Auxiliary Bishop of Cleveland. He was also episcopal vicar for the west of the diocese.

From 1983 to 2008, Quinn, who received his PhD in Law (JD) and Canon Law (JCD), was a judge at the Diocesan Court in Cleveland.

On June 14, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
