from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joh. Andreas Bachmann (born December 17, 1806 presumably in Wesel ; † January 12, 1859 in Hanover ) was a German horn player and orchestral musician at the Hanoverian court orchestra as well as a string and instrument merchant .

Life

During the so-called “ French era ” in 1906, “J. Bachmann “ junior was the son of Christian Bachmann , who was active in the Kingdom of Hanover during the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover and also known as Johann Georg Christian Bachmann, a music dealer and publisher who was also a tuba player , court and chamber musician .

Similar to Bachmann senior , Joh. Andreas Bachmann also learned a brass instrument and in Hanover - as a horn player - from 1821 initially got a temporary position in the court orchestra playing in the palace opera house at the Leineschloss . On September 1, 1833, Bachmann junior also became a member of the orchestra, under the composer and conductor Heinrich Marschner, however, only as an orchestral musician.

The Bachmann family recorded the Hanoverian address book for 1836 in the house in Leinstrasse 793 , where the senior was still an antiquarian and seller of pianofortes at the time , while the junior ran a string and instrument shop there, which he then moved to in 1838 the new royal seat under the name “Joh. Bachmann ”to Marktstrasse 475 .

It was not until 1858, and only shortly before his death, that Joh. Andreas Bachmann resigned as a musician from the Royal Hanoverian Court Orchestra.
