Johan Gry

Johan Gry (born March 19, 1962 in Helsingborg ) is a Swedish actor .

Life

Johan Gry is the son of the Swedish actor couple Alf Nilsson and Ann-Christine Gry. He grew up in Rävlanda .

Gry trained as an actor at the University of Theater, Opera and Musical ( Scenskolan Göteborg ) in Gothenburg , where he also received his diploma as an actor in 1987. He was then engaged as a theater actor at the Norrbottensteatern in Luleå , at the State Theater in Stockholm ( Stockholms stadsteater ) and at the Angereds Theater in Gothenburg.

Since 1996 he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Göteborgs Stadsteater , the Göteborg State Theater. There he appeared as Theseus and Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare , as Leonid Gajew in Der Kirschgarten by Anton Chekhov , as drum major in Woyzeck by Georg Büchner and as Prince Mischkin in a stage version of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Idiot . He also played in a stage version of Struwwelpeter and appeared in modern plays.

In 2008 he played Doctor Purgon in a production of Molière's The Conceited Sick at Riksteatern , the largest Swedish touring theater company .

From the mid-1990s, Gry was also seen regularly in Swedish and Scandinavian television productions. He took on continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and several guest roles.

From 1997 to 1999 he played the role of Anders Ståhlberg in the Swedish soap opera Vita Lögner . From 2001 to 2004 he played the role of commissioner Erik Winter in several television adaptations of Åke Edwardson's novels . In 2006 he played in the Swedish television series Hem till byn , in which his parents also played. In 2007 he played the role of Bengt Lund , the investigator's husband, in the 10-part Danish crime series Kommissarin Lund . In 2008 he had a leading role in the crime series Irene Huss, Kripo Göteborg .

In January 2010 he was seen on German television in the ZDF crime series Der Kommissar und das Meer at the side of Walter Sittler , Sólveig Arnarsdóttir and Inger Nilsson in the role of the opaque John Akkers .

Gry also developed several of his own stage and music programs, which he also toured with.

Gry is married. He is the father of three children.
