Karl Wahl (engineer)

Karl Wahl (born June 6, 1869 in Thalau , † April 18, 1961 in Trier ) was a German engineer and director of the Trier municipal utility .

Education and professional career

Karl Wahl studied at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe and in 1887 became a member of the Germania fraternity there (now Teutonia ). He then took on various activities until he came to the city of Mannheim in 1895 . There he was mainly responsible for expanding the water extraction systems in the Käfertal forest. From 1897 Karl Wahl worked for the Cologne waterworks and from 1907 he headed the gas and waterworks in Trier. In 1928 he took over the management of the entire municipal utility. Under the direction of Karl Wahl, the waterworks in Kenn , the elevated reservoir in Reinsberg and the Monaise waterworks were built .

Honors

Karl Wahl was honored with the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany . And he was awarded the Bunsen-Pettenkofer Honor Roll of the German Association for Gas and Water . He was an honorary citizen of his hometown.
