Johann Adam Wening

Johann Adam Wening (born December 24, 1748 or August 25, 1735 in Dachau , † March 23, 1800 ) was a German pastor and writer.

Wening graduated from the Jesuit high school in Munich (today Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich ) in 1767 . In 1770 he began studying theology and canon law at the University of Ingolstadt and was ordained a priest in Freising in 1774 . In 1775 he took over the post of school inspector in Munich and went to Straubing the following year .

In 1782 Wening was appointed district school inspector. After six years he went to Altötting as a capitular canon . Finally, in 1793, he took over the pastoral office in Eggenfelden .

In addition to his work as a pastor, he wrote some popular books. Thus, in 1784, historical and moral narratives for the common man emerged . In 1791/92 the three-volume volume Leben, Reisen und Schicksale Georg Schweighart of a locksmith appeared, a booklet for masters, journeymen and apprentices .
