from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Baptist Werloschnig von und zu Pernberg (also Werloschnigg, Werloschnik and Verloschnig; * January 23, 1670 in Mozirje (Prassberg), Lower Styria ; † around 1750) was an Austrian physician . He is also known under the name Ivan or Janez (Krstnik) Brložnik .

Life

Werloschnig studied medicine at the University of Graz and practiced as a doctor in Graz , Linz , Ljubljana (Laibach), Ried and Wels . During his stay in Linz he also got his name suffix von und zu Pernberg , which probably comes from the Medvedjak (Perenberg) elevation near Mozirje. Werloschnig had been a member of the Leopoldina (academic surname Metrodorus I ) since November 26, 1700 and one of the first members of the Academia Operosorum (academic surname Foecundus ), which was founded in 1693 and appeared in public for the first time in 1701 , a forerunner of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts . He was in close contact with the physician Marko Gerbec .
