Johann Christoph Friederici
Johann Christoph Friederici , also Friderici (born June 25, 1730 in Tempelburg , † August 12, 1777 in Hamburg ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Grubenhagen and the Harz region .
Life
Born the son of a Pomeranian landowner, Friederici went to Stettin in 1745 and began studying theology in Halle (Saale) in 1751 . In 1754 he became a teacher at the pedagogy in Halle , in 1756 court master of the sons of the Privy Councilor, Count Reuss, in Berlin. On January 18, 1758 he was field chaplain of the cavalry regiment of the Prince of Prussia, on February 2, 1760 second preacher at the Nicolauskirche in Neustadt near Magdeburg and in 1768 pastor to St. Jacobi and superintendent in Göttingen . From 1770 to 1775 he was the first pastor in Clausthal and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Grubenhagen and on the Harz. On August 20, 1775, he became senior pastor at St. Petri in Hamburg.
Awards
The Theological Faculty of the University of Kiel awarded Friederici an honorary doctorate on November 8, 1775 .
