Johann Daniel Wood
Johann Daniel Holz (born January 26, 1867 in Bremen , † March 22, 1945 in Fürstenfeldbruck ) was a German animal and landscape painter and member of the Luitpold group .
Life
Holz was a student at the Academy of Arts in Berlin in 1886 and 1887 , then for a year at the Karlsruhe Academy under Hermann Baisch . Then Holz began studying with Viktor Weißhaupt and Franz Amling . Wood mainly painted landscapes with herd cattle. He exhibited frequently in the Munich Glass Palace and the Berlin Great Art Exhibitions.
Works by him hang in the collections in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich and in the Dachau gallery.
