Johann Edmund Reichold

Johann Edmund Reichold (born September 20, 1838 in Schwabach ; † July 12, 1902 in Erlangen ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a notary and lawyer , Reichold studied law in Erlangen after attending grammar school in Nuremberg . During his studies in 1856 he became a member of the Bubenreuth fraternity . After completing his studies, he worked at the district office from 1862 and at the city court in Nuremberg from 1864. In 1870 he became second mayor of Erlangen, from 1872 to 1877 he was first mayor. After he resigned due to illness, he was appointed magistrate in Eßlingen in 1879 and notary administrator in Erding in 1888 . His illness got worse, so that from 1889 he was admitted to the Erlangen asylum , where he died in 1902.

He served as a soldier in the Franco-German War and was awarded the Prussian Order of the Crown and the Bavarian Medal of Merit.
