Hans Flierl

Hans Flierl (born October 19, 1885 in Forchheim , † August 21, 1974 in Erlangen ) was a German lawyer and local politician. From 1929 to 1934 he was the first or mayor of Erlangen.

Life

After graduating from high school in Schweinfurt , Hans Flierl studied law and political science at the universities of Erlangen , Berlin and Munich . In 1904 he became a member of the Corps Bavaria Erlangen . In 1907 he became a doctor of law doctorate . After he had passed the Bavarian examination for higher judicial and administrative service in 1910, he initially worked as a lawyer for a few years . In 1915 he was appointed public prosecutor in Landshut . In 1918 he was appointed to the legal council in Erlangen. A year later, in 1919, he was elected 2nd Mayor and in July 1929 1st Mayor of the city of Erlangen. He held the office until 1934, from 1932 with the title of Lord Mayor .

The main focuses of his political work were public welfare and the reorganization of the city administration after the First World War .
