Johann Ernst von Schlieben

Johann Ernst von Schlieben (born December 1, 1586 ; † July 23, 1620 ) was Komtur von Lietzen and Kurbrandenburg Hofrat .

Johann Ernst von Schlieben was a member of the Brandenburg line of those of Schlieben . His parents were the Brandenburg Secret Council Adam von Schlieben (1552-1628) and his second wife Barbara, née von Flans († 1631).

He became a knight of the Order of St. John in 1607 and is said to have also been Komtur von Lietzen later. He was Canon of Brandenburg and electoral court and chamber councilor. In 1613 he was the Kurbrandenburg ambassador in Regensburg .

When the Brandenburg court converted to the Reformed Confession , he adhered to Luther's teaching .

In 1615 he married Elisabeth von Broesigke , daughter of the heir to Breitenfeld Dietrich von Broesigke. The marriage resulted in three children.
