Johann Ernst von Zabeltitz
Johann Ernst von Zabeltitz (* 1729 in Lausitz ; † May 17, 1791 in Grumbkowkaiten , Prussia) was a royal Prussian major general, chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 7 and knight of the Pour le Mérite and heir to Eichow and Komptendorf.
His parents were Egidius Leonhard von Zabeltitz (* September 1, 1686, † November 11, 1776) and his wife Sophie Marianne von Normann from the Ilmersdorf house.
Life
He went into Prussian service in 1748 and came to the Dragoon Regiment No. 3 (Gilsa). There he became an ensign in 1749, a lieutenant in 1751 and a staff captain in 1758. Major and squadron chief in 1771, first lieutenant in 1782 and colonel on September 24, 1784. On August 11, 1790 he became major general and in October 1790 chief of Dragoon Regiment No. 7 (Borck).
During the Seven Years' War he fought in Lobositz , Prague , Kolin , Kunersdorf and Roßbach . In Reichenbach he was wounded. In the War of the Bavarian Succession he received the Pour le Mérite . On the night of October 25th to 26th, 1778, the Austrians attempted to attack Dragoon Regiment No. 3 (Thun) in the village of Möckern.
family
He was not married, but had a son with Maria Eleonore von Mackrodt from the Schillenincken house in East Prussia:

The son was later legitimized and was also carried under the name Zobel von Zabeltitz . Maria Eleonore von Mackrodt later married the staff captain Johann Christoph von Mülverstedt . Her grandson was the historian George Adalbert von Mülverstedt .
