Johann Günther II von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (born May 3, 1577 in Sondershausen ; † December 16, 1631 ibid) ruled between 1599 and 1631 as Count of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .

Life

Count Johann Günther II was a son of Count Johann Günther I of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1532–1586) and his wife Countess Anna (1539–1579), daughter of Count Anton I of Oldenburg-Delmenhorst .

At the death of his father, he, like his brothers, was still under the age of majority and was therefore subject to the guardianship of their unions , Count Johann VII (1540–1603) and Anton II (1550–1619) of Oldenburg . From 1593 Johann Günther II ruled jointly with his brothers Günther XLII. , Anton Heinrich and Christian Günther I.

The devastation of the Thirty Years' War fell during her reign , from which the county, especially Arnstadt and the surrounding area, suffered greatly from billeting and other burdens of war.

Johann Günther II died in 1631, he remained unmarried and without descendants.
