Johann Georg Duttlinger (born April 13, 1788 in Lembach ; † August 24, 1841 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; Catholic ) was a Baden lawyer and liberal politician. He was a full professor of law and president of the Second Chamber of the Baden Council of Estates .

Life

Duttlinger came from the family of a farmer in Lembach and studied law at the universities of Freiburg and Heidelberg after attending the monastery school in St. Blasien . In Besançon he gained practical knowledge of French law. He received his doctorate as Dr. iur. and after the state examination in 1812 entered the Baden state service as a legal intern in Emmendingen . In 1815 he became attorney at court in Meersburg . In 1817 he came to Freiburg as a private lecturer and in 1818 became an associate professor for private and exchange law. 1819 appointed professor, he received in 1821 the title of Privy Councilor , in 1828 a secret Privy Councilor and in 1831 a Privy Council second class.

From 1819 to 1823 Duttlinger was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly for constituency 6 (Tiengen, Jestetten, St. Blasien, Waldshut) . From 1825 to 1828 he held a member of parliament for constituency 4 (Blumberg, Stühlingen, Bonndorf, Löffingen, Neustadt) and then from 1831 to 1841 for constituency 13 (Freiburg (I), St. Peter). According to his political orientation, Duttlinger was one of the opposition at the beginning of his membership. He introduced applications to reduce the salt tax, campaigned for women's emancipation and insisted on ministerial responsibility. Duttlinger strongly opposed papal claims to a say and defended the rights of the Grand Duke in church matters too. In the governmental parliament of 1825, he showed himself to be an advocate of indomitable liberalism . Later, however, he tended more towards the political center. He was appointed by the government as a member of the Legislative Commission and played a major role in drafting the Code of Civil Procedure, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Criminal Code (1830–39). 1822 and 1828 to 1840 Duttlinger was Vice President and finally President of the Second Chamber in 1841.

Duttlinger was married to the widow von Schallberg, b. Wetzel and had a daughter with her, who married Sell, who later became the court judge.

Publications

Together with v. Hamlet and v. Kettenacker was the Duttlinger editor of the archive series for the administration of justice and legislation in Baden. In it he published essays such as
