Johann Gottfried Pfannenberg

Johann Gottfried Pfannenberg (born March 12, 1758 in Zerbst ; † April 30, 1816 in Raguhn ) was a German theologian and educational writer .

Life

Johann Gottfried Pfannenberg attended the reformed Johannisschule and from 1775 to 1777 the comprehensive high school in Zerbst. With thorough previous knowledge, he moved to the University of Halle and devoted himself to studying theology there . In doing so, he always had an inclination towards pedagogy, which he woke up early . In 1781 he passed his exam before the Reformed Church Directorate in Berlin and was accepted as a candidate for the ministry. Soon afterwards he received an apprenticeship at the reformed orphanage and at the girls' school in Magdeburg . In 1782 he became an inspector at the Joachimthalschen Gymnasium in Berlin and shortly afterwards a collaborator in the second German class. In 1795 he took over the post of rector at the secondary school in Dessau ; In 1799 he became a preacher at the Georgenkirche and a member of the spiritual ministry. In 1808 he received a pastor's position in Raguhn in Anhalt-Dessauischen. He died there on April 30, 1816 at the age of 58, an esteemed teacher and also known as a writer in this field.

Pfannenberg wrote, among other things:

For use by teachers in middle school classes and for private tuition, Pfannenberg designated the magazine he published from tasks with materials to be processed to written essays and with a preliminary report and example of the method of their preparation (Leipzig 1808; 2nd edition published by Johann Christoph Friedrich Baumgarten under the title Senior Teacher at the Magdeburg Industrial School , Leipzig 1823).
