Johann Heinrich Julius Blume

Johann Heinrich Julius Blume (born November 14, 1795 in Stettin ; † June 23, 1865 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and inspector of the 1st Artillery Fortress Inspection.

Life

His parents were the businessman Theodor Wilhelm Heinrich Blume and his wife Luise Henriette, née Ulrich.

Military career

On May 4, 1813, Blume joined the 4th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner . On June 8, 1816 he was appointed Portepeefähnrich and from 1816 to 1818 posted to the United Artillery and Engineering School . There he was transferred to the 3rd Artillery Brigade on April 17, 1817 as a second lieutenant . Promoted to Prime Lieutenant on September 29, 1829 , he was posted to the Artillery Examination Commission in 1833. On March 30, 1835, he was-company craftsmen and head of the artillery workshop in Berlin and the 3rd Artillery Brigade captain there without patent and head of the aggregates . On October 2, 1837, he received his patent as a captain with the date of August 28, 1837. On February 1, 1849 he was aggregated major and posted to the War Department as an assistant to the Army Department . On December 7, 1850 he was transferred to the War Ministry and on July 12, 1855 promoted to lieutenant colonel. Shortly afterwards, on November 15, 1855, he became chief of the artillery department. On February 26, 1857, he was assigned as inspector of the 1st Artillery Fortress Inspection, but remained a la suite of the War Ministry. He he received on 22 November 1858, promoted to colonel and was on 7 February 1861 the Order of the Iron Crown awarded II. Class, plus he received on 18 October 1861 the character as a major general. He celebrated his 50th anniversary in service on May 4, 1863 and was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. On June 6, 1864, he was put up for disposal with a pension . He died on June 23, 1865 in Berlin and was buried on June 27, 1865 in the Invalidenfriedhof .

He married on June 22, 1835 in the Berlin Jerusalem Church Wilhelmine Dorothea Amalie Munther (* April 13, 1815, † December 22, 1899), the daughter of the accountant Friedrich Reinhold Munther. The couple had several children:
