Johann Heinrich Rettberg (lawyer)

Johann Heinrich Rettberg (also: Johannes Henricus Retbergk and name variants as well as Johann Heinrich Redberg ; * May 1, 1636 in Ilten ; † February 7, 1713 in Osterode am Harz ) was a Hanoverian land master . Because it is mentioned several times in the correspondence from Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz , it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Document .

Life

Johann Heinrich Rettberg worked as defendant at the University of Tübingen in 1665 for the text De ademtione legatorum, et lege falcidia written by Burckhard Bardili .

In 1667 Rettberg, also known as "Cellensis Saxo", worked at the University of Strasbourg . In his further career the lawyer worked as an electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg court advisor , district judge , commissioner , city ​​school council and official in Osterrode in the Harz region .

Rettberg married in October 1617 Anna Juliana Fischer (born March 28, 1647 in Celle ; † October 25, 1715 in Osterode), daughter of the Princely Braunschweig-Lüneburg Treasury, court judge as well as Celle syndic and mayor Matthias Fischer and the Kunigunda Margaretha Bullen. The couple, who initially lived in Celle and later in Osterode, had seven daughters and one son, two of whom died. Rettberg's widow was buried on November 12, 1715 in the Rettberg vault in the Oster or Johannes Church.

Before that, Rettberg had also worked as a land rent master in Osterode. He was buried on February 22, 1713.
