At the local university in 1627 he was appointed professor of Greek language and practical philosophy.

In 1627 he followed another call from Hamburg, this time as rector of the Johanneum and as high school professor of Greek language and philosophy at the academic high school. On March 2, 1628 he gave up the office again due to new conflicts with the theologians and went to his old position as professor in Rostock. There he died as a senior in the philosophical faculty and emeritus after he had twice administered the rectorate of the university in 1623 and 1638 .
