Johann Kalb (politician)

Johann "Hans" Kalb (* 20th January 1960 in Buttenheim ) is a German local politician ( CSU ) and since May 1, 2014 District Administrator of the district Bamberg .

Johann Kalb is the oldest of four children of the coal merchant Hans Kalb and his wife Theresia. After primary school in Buttenheim, he attended Bamberg's Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium from 1970 , which he left in 1979 with the certificate of general university entrance qualification . During his high school years he lived in the Antonianum student dormitory, which was supervised by Franciscans. The military service made calf in Regensburg from. He then studied law at the University of Erlangen . There he passed the first state examination in 1986. After his legal clerkship at the Bamberg Higher Regional Court and the second state examination, he was admitted to the bar in 1989.

Political career

From 1990 to 2014 Johann Kalb was mayor of the Buttenheim market. During his term of office, his home community was honored with the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises as Municipality of the Year 2013.

As a career changer, he became a member of the CSU in 1996. In the same year he was elected to the district council of the Bamberg district.

After Kalb was nominated as the district administrator's candidate in July 2013 by the CSU of the Bamberg district as the successor to Günther Denzler , he was elected district administrator of the Bamberg district with 56.66 percent on March 16, 2014 .

Johann Kalb has been married to Monika Kalb since August 1986 and has three children. His wife runs the joint law firm in Hirschaid . Kalb is also chairman of the administrative board of Sparkasse Bamberg .
