Johann Portmann

Johann Portmann , von Portmann since 1653 (* 1595 in Ratingen , † 1665 in Emmerich am Rhein ) was a Kurbrandenburg Hofrat and diplomat

Life

Portmann was a privy councilor in Emmerich from Brandenburg and a member of the Klevian government, and he was also a court judge and county chancellor. Already before 1651 he was a member of the Kurbrandenburg Secret Council College .

He took part for Brandenburg as an envoy at the Peace Congress in Münster , where he was replaced before graduation by Johann Fromhold (1602-1653), who signed the Peace of Westphalia for Brandenburg. Portmann also took part in various imperial assemblies and in 1653 was elector for Ferdinand IV. (1633–1654), in 1658 the same for Leopold I (1640–1705)

Also in 1653 he, including his seven sons, was raised to the nobility .
